How to install U tip hair extensions?

• U-Tip hair extensions must be installed by a salon professional. We do not recommend attempting to install these extensions yourself as you run the risk of causing damage to both your hair and the product itself.

• This method is applied by securing bundles of extension strands to your natural hair with keratin glue which is melted using a safe, hot fusion tool. Keratin is the second weapon for long-lasting extensions which can last for up to three months.

• This method is not reusable, but it’s important to take good care of these extensions while in use.
• Application takes between 2 - 4 hours to complete.

How to wash U tip hair extensions？

Washing U-tip hair extensions requires care to ensure they stay in good condition and last as long as possible. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to wash U-tip hair extensions:

• Detangle the hair: Before wetting the extensions, gently brush or comb through them to remove any tangles or knots. Start at the tips and work your way up to the roots, holding the extensions near the bond to avoid putting excess stress on it.
• Use a sulfate-free shampoo: Choose a sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo. Sulfates can be harsh on hair extensions, causing them to dry out and become brittle. Apply a small amount of shampoo to your hand and distribute it through the hair, concentrating on the mid-lengths to the ends. Avoid directly applying shampoo to the U-tip bonds.
• Rinse gently: With lukewarm water, rinse the hair thoroughly, ensuring that all shampoo is completely washed out. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing the hair, as this can cause tangling.
• Condition the extensions: Apply a sulfate-free conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends of the extensions, avoiding the U-tip bonds. Leave the conditioner in for a few minutes to allow it to penetrate the hair. Rinse with lukewarm water until all the conditioner is removed.
• Pat dry: Gently pat the hair extensions with a clean, soft towel to remove excess water. Do not rub the hair vigorously, as this can lead to tangling or damage.
• Air dry or use a low-heat dryer: Allow the extensions to air dry naturally or use a hair dryer on a low-heat setting. If you use a dryer, keep it at a low temperature and hold it at a distance to prevent damage. Avoid applying heat directly to the U-tip bonds, as it can weaken the adhesive.

Removing U-tip hair extensions should be done carefully and preferably by a professional hairstylist to avoid damaging your natural hair or the extensions. Here's a general guide on how to remove U-tip hair extensions:

• Extension adhesive remover (specifically designed for hair extensions)
• Sectioning clips
• Pliers
• Wide-tooth comb
• A tail comb
• Towel or protective cape
• Mirror

Step-by-Step Removal:

• Prepare your workspace: Make sure you have a well-lit and comfortable area to work in. Cover your clothes with a towel or protective cape to protect them from adhesive residue.
• Section your hair: Use sectioning clips to divide your hair into manageable sections. This makes it easier to locate and remove each U-tip extension.
• Locate the U-tip bonds: Starting with one section, carefully inspect the U-tip bonds. They are usually attached close to the scalp. Be gentle to avoid pulling or tugging on your natural hair.
• Apply adhesive remover: Use a specialized extension adhesive remover. Follow the product's instructions for application, typically applying it to the U-tip bonds. Give it a few moments to soften the adhesive.
• Gently break the bond: After the adhesive remover has had time to work, use pliers to gently squeeze the U-tip bond. This should break the bond's seal and make it easier to remove.
• Slide the extension out: Once the bond is loosened, carefully slide the U-tip extension out of your hair. Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to help ease it out. Be gentle to avoid damaging your natural hair.
• Remove any remaining adhesive: After the extension is out, you may have some residual adhesive on your hair. Use the adhesive remover and a tail comb to gently comb out any remaining adhesive. Take your time to ensure it's all removed.

How to choose the correct length?

Kfhair offers hair lengths from 8 inches to 30 inches. Depending on your preferences and needs, you can optionally choose the length you want. Since the curly and wavy extensions are processed from straight styles, curly and wavy hair will be shorter by 1″ to 2 ” than straight hair in the same length. Therefore, when measuring, hair should be pulled straight to get accurate measurements.

1. How many U-Tip hair extensions do I need?

The number of packs you need depends on the volume affect you wish to achieve. 

• 1 to 2 packs (25-50 strands), you can add some highlights or fill out shorter layers around your face.
• 4 to 6 packs  (100-150 strands) will provide full head coverage for fine hair.
• 6 to 8 packs (150-200 strands) is ideal and will add length to medium to thick hair.  "

2. How often can I style my hair extensions with hot tools?

Our hair extensions are made from Remy 100% human hair, so you can style them with hot tools as often as you would style your own hair. It is super important to always use a heat protector on both your extension and your natural hair to prevent damage.

3. Can I dye my extensions?

Yes! All our hair extensions are made from high-quality human hair - meaning that they can be dyed easily to match your natural hair perfectly. While you can dye the extensions, we recommend avoiding any chemical treatments as the hair has been processed and sterilized. 

Try to choose a shade closest to your natural hair color so there’s no need to dye it. If you do need to, opt for a semi-permanent color or color conditioner. We also suggest testing the dye on a few strands to ensure the final result is what you want. While you can use dye, we take no responsibility for any damage caused by dying your hair extensions. Refunds will not be offered for damage caused by coloring, dyeing, or using any chemical process voiding any warranty.  

4. How long will U-Tip extensions last?

Professional installations of Hot Fusion U-Tip extensions should last between 8 and 12 weeks before requiring re-installation given that you have properly cared for your extensions. This may vary due to your natural scalp production of sebum and hair growth rate. 

You cannot re-use these extensions. 

5. Can I install Hot Fusion U-Tip extensions myself?

No, this must be done by a salon professional. You are able to learn how to install them using one of our Superior Hair training courses. However, it is still recommended that you do not install extensions on yourself, even if you are fully qualified. 

6. Can I swim with U-Tip extensions?

Avoid putting your hair underneath the water when you have hair extensions. Ocean water salt and swimming pool chemicals cause tangles and take moisture out of your hair. 

If you do accidentally get your hair extensions wet while swimming, rinse your hair with fresh water as soon as possible, and apply a leave in conditioner or spray in condition to alleviate the impact.
